Nicholas Weber
Founder and CIO
Nick Weber founded LINIK Finance in 2023 after a successful career in the investment management industry.
Nick was Co-Head of Asia Distressed Opportunities at Oaktree Capital Management from 2016 to 2022. During his tenure, Mr Weber was also CEO of Oaktree Singapore Pte Ltd.
Prior to joining Oaktree, Nick spent 13 years with CarVal Investors where he was most recently based in Singapore as Managing Director and Head of Asia. Additional roles with CarVal included head of research for the U.S. Corporate Securities team in Minneapolis and investment manager in London.
Prior thereto, Nick was an associate at Houlihan Lokey in London where he specialized in corporate finance and financial restructurings.
He began his career at Lehman Brothers International as an analyst in Debt Capital Markets and became an associate in the TMT Corporate Finance coverage team.
Nick graduated from Hautes Etudes Commerciales, Lausanne University in Switzerland.
Baptiste Desplats
Partner and COO
Baptiste Desplats joined LINIK Finance in 2024.
In 2023, Baptiste was special advisor to Agache and Tikehau at Pegasus Asia, a S$152 million SPAC listed in Singapore, working on a potential business combination with a high growth entrepreneurial business in Southeast Asia.
In 2021 and 2022, Baptiste was CFO of Pegasus Entrepreneurs, a SPAC backed by Agache and Tikehau and listed on Euronext Amsterdam that successfully raised €210 million and have partnered with FL Entertainment, a global and entrepreneur-led entertainment group combining two complementary and successful businesses in digital entertainment market segments: Banijay (world’s largest independent content production company) and Betclic (the fastest-growing online sports betting platform in Europe). This transaction was the largest European deSPAC with the biggest PIPE ever raised.
From 2011 until June 2021, Baptiste was managing partner of Kyte Partners, an independent advisory firm specialised in Mergers & Acquisitions and fundraising operations in Africa and the Middle East.
Baptiste began his career in 2000 in the Equity Capital Markets division of Lazard in Paris where he advised French companies from various sectors on IPOs, secondary offerings, capital increases, convertible bonds and debt restructuring.
Baptiste graduated from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris in France.
